Launching anzscofinder.com — find your ANZSCO code in 60 seconds

anzscofinder.com is live. Upload your CV, get your top 5 ANZSCO matches with confidence scores, assessing-body info, and sourced facts. Information only — never visa advice.

launchmethodology

We built anzscofinder.com because finding the right ANZSCO occupation code is harder than it should be.

Australia and New Zealand both use the Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO) to gate skilled-migration visas. There are 1,076 codes in the 2022 edition. Most applicants don’t know which one fits their CV — and getting it wrong costs months and thousands of dollars in re-assessments.

What it does

You upload a CV. We compare it against every one of the 1,076 ANZSCO 2022 occupation descriptions, then rank the top 5 with confidence scores and plain-English explanations. Each match shows:

  • The 6-digit ANZSCO code and canonical ABS title
  • Skill level (1–5)
  • The assessing body (VETASSESS, ACS, Engineers Australia, NZQA, etc.)
  • Which visa subclasses or NZ pathways accept it
  • Live job listings from SEEK, LinkedIn, and Indeed

Sample result (top match from a real CV):

261313 · Software Engineer
Skill level 1 · ACS · National shortage
Score 92 · Confidence high

The whole thing takes about 60 seconds.

What it isn’t

We do not give visa advice. We surface facts; we don’t tell you what visa to apply for or whether you’ll succeed.

It’s guidance. Verify with a migration agent before lodging.

If you need binding advice on which code to nominate or which visa to pursue, talk to:

  • Australia: a Registered Migration Agent (MARA) or an Australian-qualified immigration lawyer
  • New Zealand: a Licensed Immigration Adviser (IAA) or a New Zealand-qualified immigration lawyer

How the matching works

Three stages:

  1. Read — a large-language-model extracts roles, duties, skills, seniority signals, and qualifications from your CV.
  2. Compare — we compute semantic similarity between your CV and every ANZSCO 2022 description, then retrieve the closest 20 candidates.
  3. Rerank — a second model evaluates each candidate on five dimensions (title, duties, skill level, seniority, credentials) and produces a 0–100 confidence score with a plain-English explanation.

Full details at /methodology. Every fact comes from a public source — listed at /sources with as-of dates.

What’s next

We’re shipping with English only. The site shape is built for seven languages — Simplified Chinese, Vietnamese, Hindi, Nepali, Punjabi, and Urdu are next, in that priority order. Why those: each closes a real gap between the size of the migrant community and the availability of clear ANZSCO content in their language.

We’re also building out an ANZSCO database browser so you can navigate the codes directly — useful when you’re not sure your CV is the right starting point, or when you want to research adjacent occupations.
